ESG_TITLE

The acronym ESG is used to refer to the best Environmental, Social and Governance practices of a company or institution.

We at Splenda have always been committed to giving back to society part of what we have received. This retribution happens through a chain of responsibilities of which Splenda is a part.

ESG

In 2018, Hermes Gazzola founded the IG - INSTITUTO GAZZOLA with the purpose of contributing to the social, educational, and cultural development of society through philanthropic investments.

At SPLENDA, the INSTITUTO GAZZOLA provides professionals and their children with Educational Scholarships so they can pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, master's degrees, and more at leading educational institutions across Brazil.

The INSTITUTO GAZZOLA also channels resources through donations to projects across various organizations, such as:

  • Hospital Nora Teixeira

    At Santa Casa de Porto Alegre, inaugurated in 2023, where IG is part of a group of donors who secured financial resources for the sustainability of the entire Santa Casa de Porto Alegre complex. The new building has 10 floors, and IG invested in the construction and fit-out of one floor.

    Also in 2025, IG contributed resources to the Diagnostic Center offering high-precision tests at Hospital Nora Teixeira.

  • Banco de Alimentos do RS (Rio Grande do Sul Food Bank)

    Covering 31 municipalities in the state, the bank delivers food, health, and food security to underprivileged communities.

  • Parceiros Voluntários (Volunteer Partners)

    Hermes Gazzola served as Network Vice-President of the NGO Parceiros Voluntários, which acts as a bridge connecting people who wish to volunteer with companies, schools, and organizations in need of support for social causes.

  • AMF – Antonio Meneghetti University, School of Gastronomy

    Through resources donated by IG for the construction of the building and its facilities, offers a bachelor's degree that aims to unite culinary technique with the concept of 'knowing how to serve,' preparing professionals for the national and international market.

    Also, with an eye on the well-being and health of young people, IG invested in the construction of an additional 5,000 m² Sports Center building at AMF.

  • Endeavor

    IG makes annual contributions to the organization because it believes in supporting young entrepreneurs who help transform the country.

  • ITEC – Institute of Technology and Computing

    A center of educational excellence and cutting-edge technology reference designed for promising young talents from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

    Instituto Gazzola is investing in the construction of a restaurant on the University Campus.

  • EINSTEIN HOSPITAL

    IG will make a contribution as a donor to the creation of the Center for Advanced Oncology and Hematology Care and Therapies.

    The new structure will cover 47,000 m², with IG investing in the construction and fit-out of one floor.

    The new complex's purpose will be to redefine how cancer is prevented, diagnosed, treated, and monitored; the inauguration is planned for 2027.
